Renewal
January, 2007
Ray of the Month: Renewal
This year, I set the intention of RENEWAL for my birthday. When my to-do list gets lengthy, enjoying the company of others is the first to slip away. So I planned a couple of nurturing connections and ended up with a few more by surprise!
Anybody know Barbara Larson? Well, she has been an NVC trainer for many years, was Marshall Rosenberg's scheduler for a time, and was the glue that held the Puget Sound Network for Compassionate Communication (PSNCC) together for years. I asked her for a visit at her home on Bainbridge, which happened yesterday morning. She made us a wonderful breakfast and tea, and we celebrated my projects and learnings. She is a continual source of nurturing and tender care for me--thank you, Barb! And all of you will be hearing about these new projects soon...
After returning to Seattle, I finally opened a separate bank account for Radiant Relationships. I had a wonderful connection with Rhett, and he looked over our accounts, finding us ways to increase our monetary wealth--fabulous! And I can now take checks made out to "Radiant Relationships..." that feels great!
As I headed to my office, I decided to stop by Kidd Valley for a veggie burger. I was quite surprised when I saw a former participant who lives somewhere way down south sitting there with her daughter! As it turns out, her daughter is attending the same school that my son went to in the early elementary grades, and we had a brief chat about NVC in the school. I was renewed both by the connection to the school and to Noelle!
I then stopped in my office, where I was going to meet my office-mate Pan, and our friend and colleague Janice was there. The last couple of days I had been thinking how special it would be for me to have an owl feather. As we stood in the kitchen munching fries, completely unaware of my new owl feather desire, she relayed a story about how a friend was gifted with an OWL FEATHER!
Okay, it just gets crazier. Pan and I then had some time together doing a little healing work, and at the end, he said that he had an owl feather for me at home. Now that is some quick manifesting!
A long-lost friend sent me an email earlier in the week, hoping to stop by the office to drop off an NVC CD that he had checked out. I invited him to take me out for a latte. As we were chatting over our steamed milk, it turns out that he has gotten back into video production and would like to tape some of my NVC work and put it on local access television. And if that is not weird enough, he just happened to be planning to be in town during the weekend of my next Free Intro! Hooray to teamwork and Alan!
As Alan and I were parting, a young man named Neal stopped by and wanted to buy a gift certificate of a class for a friend. Wow--my first gift certificate!
I then went to dinner with my mother, sister, husband and two children. They had teamed up to draw my a gigantic card several feet across, on my favorite color, PINK!
And lastly, I took my kids to a juggling/comedy performance in Redmond. My son, Manny, is also a juggler and is a huge fan of these guys--the Brothers from Different Mothers. After the show, Manny was talking with one of the performers who said that he'd like to see Manny's progress and would stop by the circus school during his next class. Thank you, Matt, for being a source of inspiration, learning and encouragement for Manny!
OK, so what does this birthday log have to do with a need for renewal?
When I set an intention to be renewed, I had pictured a relatively quiet day, a couple of meetings with close friends, time alone meditating or something--I think you get the picture.
What I got instead was an action-packed day of miracles which not only left me RENEWED, but ENERGIZED as well.
Moral of the story: Love your need, flow with your strategies.
